Answer:

These 'tags' are usually small, usually soft, always flesh-colored skin flaps on the neck, armpits, groin, upper thighs and eyelids. They are normal outgrowths of the skin and do not need to be 'treated' although if in an area where they chafe or become irritated, may be snipped off by the doctor with sterile scissors and technique, or freezing with liquid nitrogen. If you suspect that a particular lesion is not a skin tag but may be a mole which is bleeding or enlarging, or a form of skin cancer, see your doctor urgently. These comments are made for the purpose of discussion and should NOT be used as recommendations for or against therapies or other treatments. An individual patient is always advised to consult their own physician.
