I have recurring Athlete's Foot and am currently using Lamisil cream to keep it under control. The problem is that the cream is only barely keeping it in check, when it used to be cleared up after a few days. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you for your inquiry It is not necessarily the case that the treatment is ineffective - even with a complete microbiological cure, some people experience recurrent infections because of re-infection. Measures to prevent re-infection are straightforward if not easy when there is the type of weather currently in Moscow... especially the latter recommendations (thanks to Bayer) - Wash hands after applying treatment or handling feet - Wash feet daily and dry carefully in between toes - Change socks, tights or stockings at least daily - Do not share towels or shoes - Wear sandals in communal sports changing rooms and showers - Avoid wearing footwear made from synthetic materials which make feet sweat, and prefer cotton socks - If at all possible, wear open-toed sandals during treatment and... to avoid a recurrent infection, treatment should be continued for 2 weeks after visible symptoms have disappeared. -
