Question:
After four operations on a fractured talus I have serious pain in my right ankle which has been diagnosed as arthritis and has been treated with prescription anti-inflammatories such as Voltarol. The problem is that this no longer appears to work and I am in continual pain which on some days is nearly unbearable. As a result I have had to give up sport as even swimming and cycling cause pain. Basicallycan you suggest anything else which might help.

Dear Tim,
Thank you for your question about your fractured talus. I have discussed the problem of the disabling pain which you have following several operations, with a podiatrist from new Zealand who works with us. She advises that you should have a consultaton and investigations to find the reason for this pain. If the blood supply to the bone is becoming inadequate this can have serious consequences. Would you like to contact SOS Clinic to discuss this? Please do so asap, as the podiatrist will be leaving Moscow in three weeks. Regards, Dr Brigid lomax
