In adition i have a persistent small swollen node at the back corner of my mouth. A whitish coating back to the esaphogus is also present. Variant joint and muscle pains accompanies the agitation in the mouth. Can it be serious? Thanks. John  Answer: Thank you for your inquiry, There can be numerous causes for the findings you have in your mouth and the associated joint and muscle pains. Some of them can be " serious". I would suggest that you consult a doctor to confirm a diagnosis that explains your findings.
